I have never tasted anything that comes even remotely close. We used to eat ripe local mangoes with vanilla ice cream for dessert after a nice dinner. This was in Cairo...where I also remember picking up mangoes off the street when they fell from the trees. I have a blog (http://sassyfood.blogspot.com/) and I'm going to post something about mangos and lassis and egyptian mango memories. I'd love to use your mango picture and/or link to your site. Would you mind?
-Sassy criticAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355797075478663934.post-90629653186439532682008-09-16T12:19:00.000+02:002008-09-16T12:19:00.000+02:00Looks delicious, and such a good combination of fl...Looks delicious, and such a good combination of flavours.Just Cook Ithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17035386609851308100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355797075478663934.post-4686509201714489192008-09-16T02:53:00.000+02:002008-09-16T02:53:00.000+02:00I'm a mango fanatic and this looks absolutely deli...I'm a mango fanatic and this looks absolutely delicious. I've never had mangoes from Egypt, but have fond memories of Israeli mangoes, which my host family in Israel grew behind their house.

I'd take out tequila, but the rest sounds great!Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14272849981052077296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355797075478663934.post-8082031112767791752008-09-15T16:46:00.000+02:002008-09-15T16:46:00.000+02:00This looks wonderful - I love mangoes and I love t...This looks wonderful - I love mangoes and I love tequila, so this would be a perfect match for me! Do you think it would be okay with basil instead of mint? Not sure how that would pair with the coconut ice cream.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355797075478663934.post-24762600637617339502008-09-15T13:56:00.000+02:002008-09-15T13:56:00.000+02:00Were you away again Marianna?I believe you when yo...Were you away again Marianna?

I believe you when you say Egyptian mangoes must be tops...probably like fresh figs vs. supermarket.

Your plating is as usual, extraordinary.Peter Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01907758539058786065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355797075478663934.post-74350210623395059312008-09-15T10:59:00.000+02:002008-09-15T10:59:00.000+02:00Nice to see you back Marianna!
